COVID-19 UPDATE

To all our patients,

First off, I would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding throughout these times. We’ve received different directives and all parts and pieces over the last week, however, have finally received clarification on how our two practices will be operating for the foreseeable six weeks.

Geelong

For the moment, until further notice, our Geelong practice will be continuing to operate as it has for the last few months. We will be maintaining strict hygiene measures, including sanitiser, and open by appointment only to cater for social distancing measures and contact logging. Routine eye tests will proceed as normal and fittings can occur also. We kindly ask that you:

a) minimise the number of persons attending the clinic for any one appointment and;

b) according to Government Restrictions, all persons over the age of 12 must be wearing a face mask or covering

Yarraville

In light of Stage 4 restrictions applying to Metropolitan Melbourne, the way our Yarraville clinic is running looks a little different. I do want to emphasise that we are remaining open in order to provide urgent and essential care to patients who require.

According to government guidelines, we are conducting eye tests for patients only where it is urgent and necessary. No referral from a GP is required, however if you believe you require an appointment, please contact us and our staff will organise a time and I personally will be calling you to triage. We ask that you request these appointments only for urgent matters and use your judgement to decide when this is the case.

If you do enter our store for an urgent reason, we ask that you follow the below instructions:
a) If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms (no matter how mild), please reschedule your appointment
b) If you have returned from overseas or had close contact with a confirmed case, please do not attend the practice until you have completed your isolation period
c) Please come with only one parent and the child who has been booked in for an appointment. All support persons and other family members are requested to wait in the car.
d) Please ensure that all patients and parents over the age of 12 are wearing a mask
e) At the door, you will be greeted by one of our staff who will check you in, take your temperature and provide you with hand sanitiser
f) Maintain social distancing at all times
g) Please ask a staff member if you wish to handle any spectacle frames. We will collect these for you.

If your glasses have arrived, we are able to either post these to you or you can collect them from our practice and we will deliver them to your car, contactless.

Whilst our doors are closed our shop is open. We are here on the phones and monitoring emails. It’s been an incredibly busy period for us, and we are receiving more calls and messages than usual, so we appreciate your patience.

As always, we are here for any and all of your concerns. Our priority is your safety, eye health and vision, so please let us know if there is anything we can do.

For now: stay safe, stay well, we’ll see you soon.
