CONTACT LENSES

We take pride in offering the best contact lens choices available to both children and adults.

Our Contact Lens Clinic offers a variety of different options which can be recommended dependent on your visual needs, in addition to when and how you plan to use them.

Contact lenses are a great option for both children and adults, especially where glasses may be inconvenient such as for sports, or even every day use to keep life moving. We have a number of brands and designs available to ensure you are able to find a pair of contact lenses that help you to see clearer, but also feel great too. A number of variations are available from leading brands, such as Coopervision, Alcon, Johnson & Johnson and Bausch and Lomb, ranging from single vision, toric (for patients with astigmatism) and multifocal designs.

We offer full contact lens consultations and fitting to ensure that you are matched with the right product for your needs. In these consultations, we will also take the time to teach you how to use contact lenses and care for them.

As registered providers, contact lenses can also be claimed on your private health insurance.

DAILY DISPOSABLE CONTACT LENSES

Daily, or single-use, contact lenses are a great option for individuals who choose to wear contact lenses occasionally and not on a daily basis. They are cost effective, and as they are one-time use only (designed to be discarded of at the end of the day), they are also hygienic - reducing the risk of infection compared to more regular use contact lens designs. These are a cost effective option, and great for adults and children who choose to wear contact lenses for sports.

FORTNIGHTLY / MONTHLY DISPOSABLE CONTACT LENSES

Fortnightly or monthly contact lenses are a great option for individuals who prefer to wear contact lenses over their glasses. It is incredibly important, however, that good cleaning and hygiene of these contact lenses is maintained as they can be reused for up to two weeks or a month (depending on which design you get).

ACVUE TRANSITIONS CONTACT LENSES

We have seen amazing success with these contact lenses - which are essentially prescription sunglasses and protection, but in your eyes! These lenses will change colour in the sun to give you UV protection. (They don’t, however, replace the use of a hat though!)

ORTHOKERATOLOGY (ORTHO-K)

We also have the technology to prescribe Orthokeratology - which is essentially custom-made hard contact lenses which are designed to be slept in so that you or your child can experience clear vision during the day - so no glasses will be necessary. These specialised lenses are designed to temporarily reshape the top-most layer of your eye (the cornea) and in effect has shown to reduce myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism.

COOPERVISION MISIGHT CONTACT LENSES

We are proud to be one of the few optometric clinics who offer MiSight contact lenses for myopia control in children. These contact lenses are designed to be worn daily and have been clinically proven to slow the progression of myopia by 59% which is a brilliant option for children. Additionally, they are a soft contact lens, and approximately 90% of children are able to insert and remove these contact lenses by themselves. No matter their age, children can be very successful in achieving this - our youngest patient in these is six-years-old and inserts and remove them independently!

These contact lenses have been an amazing choice for children requiring myopia control who prefer not to wear glasses, or for children with glasses for myopia control to wear during sports or on special occasion, so they do not need to wear their glasses.
