Glaucoma and your Child’s Big Eyes

Glaucoma-kids.png

How many babies do you see with the most amazing large eyes in their tiny heads.  We all get excited about it and tend to associate this feature with beauty.   What many people don’t realise is that having large eyes can be an indication of glaucoma, a condition that can lead to glaucoma.

One in 10,000 babies are born with glaucoma and fortunately 90% of these are detected before they reach the age of one years old

If you know of a baby with watery eyes, sensitive to light and their eyeballs are enlarging, beware and get them tested straight away at your optometrist.   This condition is urgent as the damage by Glaucoma is irreversible.

Glaucoma is the Silent thief of vision.
